A death in a grand Paris hotel in 1920, and you’re the ones being blamed. Hotel: Murder Mystery is a 60-minute whodunit game at Escape This Perth CBD: your party rides the lift up to the victim’s suite, studies the evidence, tests each suspect’s story and names the real killer before the gendarmes arrive.
Terrible timing. In Hotel: Murder Mystery the hotel’s ornate lift jams with you inside, and when you finally get it moving and the doors open, the penthouse guest has been killed. You’re the nearest faces, the frame fits, and the gendarmes are on their way.
Name the true culprit before the hour runs out. Getting through doors isn’t enough in Hotel: Murder Mystery: you must decode the clues, pick apart each alibi and point at the right suspect to clear your names. Guess wrong or run out of time and, in the story, you’re off to prison.
A bit of both. Hotel: Murder Mystery runs like an escape room: your party alone in a built set, a 60-minute clock, locks and puzzles, and a gamesmaster on hand with hints. The difference is the goal. You win by solving a whodunit and naming the killer, not just by reaching the last door.
It’s built for sleuthing, not screaming. Hotel: Murder Mystery sits in Escape This’s adventure category: lamplight, glamour and a chalk outline on the parquet rather than horror. The lighting is controlled for atmosphere, so there may be darker moments.
Escape This rates Hotel: Murder Mystery 7 out of 10. Finding the clues is generally the easy part; making sense of them, and spotting who they point at, is where teams slow down. It suits groups with a little experience, though keen beginners do fine.
Plan on 90 minutes. The investigation lasts 60 minutes, Escape This asks guests to arrive 15 minutes beforehand, and about 15 minutes afterwards covers the debrief. Teams that unmask the killer early leave Hotel: Murder Mystery sooner.
Monday to Thursday, Hotel: Murder Mystery costs $49 per adult and $39 per guest under 16. Friday to Sunday it’s $65 per adult and $55 for under-16s. Those rates don’t cover public and school holidays.

Yes. Hotel: Murder Mystery suits birthdays, bucks and hens nights, Christmas and EOFY outings and team days. Parties of up to six book it directly; bigger groups combine several rooms or hire the venue, which Team Escapes can arrange.

Two to six per session, and four to six when booking a Saturday online. Six is a firm ceiling for Hotel: Murder Mystery, so larger groups split across rooms that start at the same time.
Thirteen and up. Escape This recommends Hotel: Murder Mystery for guests 13 and older because the story is, after all, a murder. Teenagers and adults make a strong team together, and a spread of ages often helps crack the case.

Not at the moment. Hotel: Murder Mystery runs at one venue only, Escape This Perth CBD on Hay Street Mall. Older promotions talked about Sydney and Melbourne, but neither city has a confirmed opening.

Yes, two honours from one night. At the 2026 Immersive Experience Awards, Hotel: Murder Mystery won the Escape Rooms and Puzzle Experiences category and was Highly Commended for Production Design and Craft, both for the Perth CBD hotel. Its maker, Escape This (Australia’s largest escape room operator, with its own escape room design studio and escape room factory), was named Escape Room Operator of the Year in 2025 and 2026 by the APAC Insider Australia Business Awards.
A comic, invented casebook kept by Inspector Brochard, the gendarme summoned to the grand hotel of Hotel: Murder Mystery every time a guest is found dead upstairs. Escape This writes it in his voice. Each entry follows a party framed at the Perth CBD hotel and answers a real question, such as Saturday group sizes, ages or costumes, with the true facts and a booking link beside it.
